TITLE: EQUALITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION (EDI) OFFICER
THIS IS A .6 FIXED TERM POST.
RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager with dotted line to Development
Manager.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Working as part of the Green Party HQ Team, the role will be
responsible for identifying, creating and implementing plans to
promote diversity within the Green Party. The role also supports
affiliate groups and the Diversity Subcommittee events to promote
equality, diversity and inclusion. The role will include designing and
delivering training and other resources to promote inclusion and
access in line with legislation and international best practice, and
utilise community development approaches to foster local and national
initiatives. The successful candidate must be willing to work flexibly
across functions, be a strong communicator, and a change management
champion capable of working collaboratively while driving initiatives
to completion.
ROLE DESCRIPTION ? DUTIES
* Research, develop, and delivering strategic EDI action plans, in
line with the Party?s overall equality strategy
* Review the Party?s workplace, policies and procedures, ensuring
that these are all inclusive
* Facilitate training, guidance, and support to staff and members on
equality, diversity, and inclusion issues, across the party but also
internally within HR
* Support the various committees in the Green Party in their work on
equality, diversity and inclusion through updates to the Executive
Committee
* Provide additional support and resources to election candidates
and representatives
* Devise, plan and implement seminars, conferences, and other key
events to communicate equality, diversity, and inclusion principles to
staff and members
* Attend, lead and/or develop meetings relating to the EDI agenda
and networking
* Create access pathways to promote equality, diversity and
inclusion i.e. including internships, membership, and elected officers
and representatives
* Other duties as may be assigned
PERSON SPECIFICATION - KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
* Knowledge of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work and impact
normally gained through a minimum of three years experience in the
area
* Proven interpersonal and multi-stakeholder co-ordination skills
* Experience creating, monitoring and delivering resources and
training, including equality, diversity and inclusion metrics and/or
dashboards
* Demonstrated capacity for influencing, developing and empowering
other people
* ICT proficiency including Social Media, Slack, Google, MS Office
and Local Government portals
* A qualification in further or higher education in a related area
(preferably)
* Strong written and oral communications skills in English (and
preferably Irish)
* Demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders
* An interest in the fundamental principles of the Green Party
* Ability to work with confidential information and understanding of
GDPR processes
